June Elveda Knapp

June Elveda Knapp passed away peacfully to be with her Heavenly Father on May 16, 2010. She was born June 21,1923 in Salt Lake City, UT to David and Elveda Altop. June served during WWII in the Navy Waves for 3 1/2 years. She retired from working in California for Alameda County after 30 years. June married Lee Knapp and they had two children, Lee Ann and Roy Knapp. June enjoyed swimming, playing the organ and singing. She was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But above all she enjoyed spending time with her family including two grand daughters Sara Brockman and April Loposky and her three great grand daughters, Kodee Bates, Alexis Loposky and Jenna Brockman. In her later years her favorite past time activities were traveling to see her grand children, watching golf, Matlock and The Golden Girls with her daughter Lee Ann and Chloe, her dog and constant companion. She is survived by her siblings, Doris Carmichael, David Altop and Betty Lyman and her daughter Lee Ann Knapp. She is preceded in death by her son Roy Alan Knapp. June will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank all the Harmony Health nurses who helped June during the last few years, the doctors and nursing staff at the SLC VA Hospital for all of Junes care and also thank her friends at the Lakeview 3rd Ward for all your help and support to June and her family. We would also like to thank all the friend and family members who have helped us during this difficult time. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Viewing from 1 to 1:45 at the LDS meeting house located at 10945 South 1700 East, Sandy, UT in the Relief Society Room. Graveside Services will follow at 2:15 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery (across the street from the meeting house).
