June Marie Cowan Rose passed away in the early morning of Friday, April 9, in Lehi, Utah, with family members at her side. June was a feisty, fiercely independent, generous, beautiful person. She was a talented artist and singer who loved animals (especially the stray kind), reading, writing poetry and making regular shopping trips to the old downtown ZCMI. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. June was born to Annie Marie Curtis and Elmer Aaron Cowan on Dec. 8, 1922 in Salt Lake City, where she lived most of her life. She married Ralph Patrick Rose Sr. in 1940 (later divorced) and had one son, Ralph Patrick Rose Jr. She attended West High School. June worked as a binder at the Deseret News starting in the early 1950s until her retirement in 1978. In her later years, she moved to Pleasant Grove to be closer to family, then to Lehi to live with her son and his family. June is survived by her son, Pat; daughter-in-law, Ann; grandchildren, Tammy, Heidi (Ken), Robin, Wendy, Michelle (Mark), Amie (Mark), Theron (Anna), Dianna (Nate) and Lynnsey; sister, Ruth Lefevre; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends and family may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 14, at the Lehi First Ward, 220 W. 200 S. in Lehi. June will be remembered at a memorial service starting at noon in the Lehi First Ward chapel, with interment at the Lehi Cemetery.
