Karen Stringer Andrews, Age 57, passed away October 16, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. On January 29, 1954 she became the adoring, only child to Benjamin Merritt Stringer and June Cornelia Erhle. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Karen was talented, bright and enjoyed learning. She was an excellent student. She graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went on to attend college at the University of Pennsylvania Nursing School where she met her future husband, George, in a chemistry class that they both were attending. They married on Sept. 14, 1974 in Las Alamos, New Mexico. They built wonderful memories together as they raised their four children, in homes in New Mexico, California, Massachusetts and most recently South Jordan, Utah.
Karen was a dedicated homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She also helped support her family with various employment opportunities throughout her life.
Her most recent work was for Marriott Vacation Club as a vacation ownership advisor and finance advisor. She loved this work as she made new friends, was able to travel, and help others fulfill their vacation dreams.
Karen believed in the service of others. She served friends, neighbors, family and those in need. She loved Christmas and tried to keep its spirit alive all year round. She enjoyed singing, gardening with her sweetheart, vacations at the beach, crafting with her daughters, family gatherings, and her pet parrot, Angel.
Karen's wonderful example and teachings will live on in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her circle of influence, with its ripple effect, will continue forever.
Karen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 37 years, her children and their spouses, and her grandchildren that she adored. Children: Christopher and (Kim), West Jordan, Adam and (Jessica), South Jordan, Lauren, Kansas City, Missouri, (Brian) and Lindsey Ballard, Spanish Fork.
