Karen Lynn Billings passed away on January 11, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born March 28, 1948 in Prairie City, Oregon to Wallace and Joy Ovey. She graduated from Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Washington and then went onto graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University.
Karen married her college sweetheart Lowell Billings in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Beaverton, Oregon and was very devoted to her church. Some of her great joys in the church was working with the Young Women, Cub Scouts, and planning many, many special activities and events. Karen was known for her exceptional organizing abilities and her love of helping people. She always thought of others before herself.
Karen loved to crochet and took great joy in making blankets for other people. She especially enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for all the new expectant mothers.
Karen also loved her garden, especially taking care of her beautiful hydrangeas. She took great pride in creating a peaceful landscape around her house.
Karen is survived by her husband, Lowell Billings, her two children Amy (Justin) Crosby of Magna, Utah and Jared Billings of Draper, Utah and her sister Lisa Ovey of Aurora, Oregon.
The funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on January 15, 2022 at 11am. The address is 955 NW 173rd Avenue, Beaverton, Oregon 97006. Karen will be laid to rest in Orem City Cemetery in Orem, Utah on January 22, 2022 at 11 a.m.
