Karen Marwedel Gregerson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on 14 January 1952 and passed away due to complications stemming from a five-year bout with serious illnesses. Her parents are Edith and Wilford Marwedel (both deceased) also of Salt Lake City. Karen is married to and survived by David Gregerson. The surviving children are: Rachelle, Brian, Daniel, Jeffrey, Spencer, Carrie, Craig, and Jeremy.
She graduated from Olympus High School and attended Brigham Young University, where she met her husband, David. They established their home in Orem, Utah.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was active her entire life. Her responsibilities included numerous teaching positions in the church as well as being a member of the Scout Committee. Karen was also a Secretary in her ward Primary and Sunday School.
She was a devoted mother, loved children and enjoyed working at Windsor Elementary School as a Teacher's Aide, Play Ground/Lunch Room Supervisor, and cared for children who had special needs.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing dominos, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing a family-invented game called "Fatlip". Her favorite singer was David Archuleta.
A viewing will be from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m., Saturday, the 20th of October 2012. Funeral services will then follow at 11 am in the LDS Ward Chapel at 955 North 300 East, Orem, Utah. She will be laid to rest in the Orem City Cemetery (1520 North 800 East) after the funeral.
Karen's family extends many thanks to all the friends, physicians and health-care providers who helped during the last five difficult years of her life.
