Karen Huskinson Gummow St. George, UT - Karen Gummow, age 71, passed away unexpectedly along with her sister, Ila Jean Moore, on Wednesday, March10, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born on November 22, 1938, in Rexburg, ID, to Leo James and Gladys Miller Huskinson. She married Jerry Lee Gummow in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 19, 1960. They were later divorced.
Karen was raised and educated in Rexburg. She graduated from Rick's College and later from Southern Utah State College. She was a homemaker and a professional seamstress. She enjoyed quilting, bowling, and needlework. She was a loving mother who took pride in her eight children. Karen was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in various callings. She has lived in Rexburg, Burley, ID, and St. George.
Karen is survived by her children: James (Teresa) Gummow of Ivins, UT, Michael (Teresa) Gummow of Rupert, ID, twins Kalvin (Kim) Gummow of Twin Falls, ID, and Kevin (Tricia) Gummow of Hurricane, UT, Chancellor (Linda) Gummow of Twin Falls, ID, Eric (Jolynn) Gummow of Heyburn, ID, Melinda Olson of St. George, UT, and Zachary (Jennifer) Gummow of Washington, UT; 28 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and brothers, Garn (Colleen) Huskinson of St. George, UT, and Morris (Linda) Huskinson of Weimar, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Sherman, and her sister, Ruth.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Morningside 7th Ward Chapel, 879 S. River Road. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be held at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
