Kathleen P. Ogden

Kathy was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada on July 27, 1952. She passed away quietly in Banner Garden's Hospice Home early May 18, 2010 after a short battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) at the age of 57. She is survived by her husband, Keith Ogden, originally from Oakland, CA, currently residing in Mesa, AZ. They were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on November 27, 1974 (35 years so far). Kathy was called blessed and elect by her children: Tim (Heather) Ogden of Modesto, CA; Michael (Marci) Ogden of Fort Riley, KS; and Lisa (David) Thorne of Bountiful, UT. She'll forever be remembered for her stories and silly impersonations by her grandchildren: Brennan, Spencer, Grant & Megan of Modesto, CA; Isabelle, Sabene, & Daniel of Fort Riley, KS; Thomas, Lily & Sarah of Bountiful, UT. Kathy was born to York and Florence Clarkson of Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada. Her mother preceded her in death by only 12 hours due to complications of Alzheimer's. The family takes comfort knowing that the two are reunited. She is survived by her sisters, Janice (Larry) Day of Williams Lake, British Columbia, and Brenda (Emmett) Henry of Fredericton, New Brunswick and numerous other relatives. Kathy was a convert and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved learning and was a scholar of the scriptures and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She earned her Medical Assistant certificate from Eton Technical Institute in Everett, WA. She loved working and socializing with the elderly and was a caregiver for Alzheimer's patients for seven years. Kathy enjoyed reading novels, researching her family history and doing temple work. She lived and traveled around the world touching lives wherever she went. A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the LDS chapel at 50 South 800 East Orem, UT 84097. A viewing will be from 10:30am - 11:45am. In lieu of sending flowers, donations can be directed to Paypal.com using k4ogden@gmail.com. Also, a memorial open house will be held in Gilbert, AZ with details to be determined later. Please contact k4ogden@gmail.com for scheduling details. Her family would like to give special thanks to Karlene Jorgenson, her friend and caregiver, and all the ward members wherever she lived, and the doctors and nurses who tended her.
