Kathryn Field Donnelly 1919 - 2007
Kathryn Field Donnelly, 87, died peacefully on August 17, 2007 in Springville, Utah.
Kay was born September 25, 1919, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Walter Logan Field, Sr. and Helen Winne Field. In 1929 her family relocated to Salt Lake City. Educated at East High School and the University of Utah, she graduated from St. Mark's School of Nursing in 1944 as a Registered Nurse.
Kay married Vernon L. Donnelly on February 23, 1945 in the Cathedral of the Madeline and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. They retired in 1980 to McCall, Idaho. In 1988 they moved to Olympia, Washington near their daughter, Mary. Vernon died in Olympia in 1993. In 2000, Kay moved to Aztec, New Mexico near her son, Lee. In 2005, she relocated to Springville, Utah and lived with her son Kenneth and his family until the time of her death.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Kay was a Girl Scout camp counselor at Camp Cloud Rim. She shared her love of the outdoors with her camp charges and later her own family in the knowledge of wildflowers, birds, camping and hiking. She especially loved hummingbirds. As a Registered Nurse, Kay was a nursing supervisor at St. Mark's Hospital and spent 20 years with the premature infant unit of Holy Cross Hospital.
Survived by her children, Kathryn Ann Sticklen, Boise, Idaho; Mary Ellen, Olympia, Washington; Michael Logan (Marion), Salt Lake City; Leo Patrick (Patti), Aztec, New Mexico; and, Kenneth Edward (Melanie), Springville, Utah; and by her beloved grandchildren, Megan, Amy, Alina, Spenser, Katie, Brenna and Lizzie. Also survived by her nephews, Leland S. McCullough (Pam) and Craig F. McCullough (Pat) and niece Jean Ingleby (Steve), all of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by her husband, sister, Helen Field McCullough and brother, Walter Logan Field, Jr. and nephew, David McCullough.
