Kay McMullin Williams, kind and gentle husband, father, teacher and friend died Monday, December 3, 2007 when his tired heart had had enough. Though his death caught us off guard, we realize that his last several years have been a gift to us.
Kay's life began in Southern Alberta, where he met and later married his sweetheart, Shirley, after returning home from his first mission in Australia. Together, they created a rich life, raising four children, serving God and forming lasting friendships everywhere they lived. Preferring to listen more than he spoke, Kay created comfort and provided support for all those who depended upon him.
Kay was an honest, sincere and hard-working man. He was a talented singer and self-taught musician who put these talents to use while serving as a missionary in Nauvoo and again this past summer in Martin's Cove. Watching him perform "Molly" with his wife is a treasured memory for all his children and grandchildren.
Kay loved being at the ranch, Home Depot, Costco and anywhere with Shirley. He enjoyed a good book, a BYU game, short prayers and anything with raisins.
Kay is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, children David (Paula), Linda, Cheryl (Brett), and Danny (Heather), 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, Corbin.
We will celebrate his well-lived life with a viewing Thursday, December 6 from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Funeral service Friday, December 7 at 11 a.m. All services will be held at the Lower Mutton Hollow Chapel, 1085 N. 50 E., Kaysville, Utah. Internment will follow at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
There's a grand view of land way up yonder, It's the forest where silence has lease. It's the beauty that fills me with wonder, It's the stillness that fills me with peace.
