Keith Leon Clegg

KEITH LEON CLEGG, our beloved Dad, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the age of 90. We, his children, were blessed to be at his side.

Dad was born March 14, 1921, in Provo, Utah, to William Francis Clegg and Melinda Moulton Clegg. Dad spent most of his childhood in the Provo area, although a few years were spent in Bingham and Heber, Utah. His childhood was difficult, but he spoke fondly of the happy times with his mother, brothers and sisters.

Dad was a World War II veteran of the Pacific Theater. Although he didn't speak of the horrors of war too often, Dad was proud to have served in the 145th Field Artillery, 40th Infantry Division, of the Army of the United States of America. His unit was the first relief to arrive in Hawaii after Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941, and he also fought in the Philippines and Mariana Islands.

Dad married our mother, Lois Brailsford, on November 5, 1947, in the Manti LDS Temple, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. Mother died in June 1998. Our parents raised four children: Arland (spouse Joyce Frampton Clegg), Rayanna (spouse Robert L. Starr), Laura, and Jay (spouse Jolynn Braley Clegg). Dad has 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Dad and Mom made their home on God's Chosen Acres (Grandview Hill). Dad loved farming and raised wonderful strawberries, apples, cherries, pears, peaches and raspberries. After retiring from Clegg Construction and farming, he expanded his crops to include vegetables and he shared the bountiful harvests with friends and family. Dad resided on Grandview Hill until the last few years of his life. We, his children, thank the loving staff at Spanish Fork Nursing & Rehabilitation where Dad was well cared for in all respects--loved, happy and contented.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 1600 North 1880 West, Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held before the funeral services from 9:30 to 10:45. Interment will follow at the Provo Cemetery.
