Kenneth Alma Morrell

Kenneth Alma Morrell passed away at his home in Highland, Utah on April 28, 2007 under the loving care of family and friends. He was born December 12, 1915 to Ernest Alma and Phoebe Howes Morrell in Marysvale, Utah.
Ken married Agnes L. Lindsay and had two daughters, Rosemary (Reed) Benson and Myrna (Carl) Thompson. Upon Rosemary's passing Ken and Agnes raised their grandson, Brad Kenneth Benson, as a son. Ken and Agnes were later divorced. Ken then married Georgia Hennings in Elko, Nevada on December 17, 1971. They were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on April 28, 1978.
He worked at Geneva Steve as a Charger Machine Operator in the Open Hearth for over thirty years. He also served in the United States Army during World War II. Ken was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Thelda and Guyla, his wife Georgia, a daughter Rosemary, two grandsons Steven and Shane, a great-grandson Byron and a son-in-law Carl Thompson.
Ken is survived by his daughter Myrna Thompson (Lehi, Utah), his son Brad (Jody) Benson (Lehi, Utah), two step children Jennette (Wallace) Knudsen (Spanish Fork, Utah), Gene (Marlene) Sands (Minnesota), one brother Frank Morrell (Leeds, Utah), 10 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 24 great great grandchildren with one on the way.
Funeral services will be held May, 2 2007 at 1:00pm at the Highland 3rd Ward Chapel, 11000 North 5870 West (Highland Highway). A viewing will be held two hours prior 11:00am - 1:00pm at the same location. Interment at American Fork Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.serenicare.com.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at A-Plus Hospice, Paula, Sheila, Joleen, Linda and Don. We would also like to thank his great grandchildren Tory (Lynn) Meenderink and Aimee (Bryan) Collings for living with and taking care of Ken for the past year so he could be comfortable in his own home before his passing.
