Kenny Joe Valdez 53, our Dad, Brother & one & only favorite Uncle, passed away August 8, 2011 in Orem, UT. He was born in Provo, UT to Joe T. Valdez and Donna Garcia on July 11, 1958. Kenny graduated from Springville High, and received his associates in Sports Medicine at UVU. At an early age he started body building where it grew into his passion. Kenny received many awards and trophies in body building, but the greatest of all was earning the title of Mr. Utah Bodybuilding Champion in 1985. Kenny worked for Geneva Steel in the Open Hearth for many years, also worked at Deer Valley Ski Resort as part of the Ski Patrol team, and most recently was a personal trainer. Kenny was well known at Golds Gyms where he shared his help and knowledge to everyone with pleasure. He loved his sons and family whole heartedly and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid skier, amazing work out partner and all around fun loving man. Kenny is at peace and Mom and Dad finally have their "Heto" there with them. He will be greatly missed by all he left behind, Kenny had a way to make everyone around him laugh, he was a peacemaker and loving man who would help anyone with anything. He is survived by his four sons, Bengy (Ambur) Martinez, Westminster CO, Shawn (Lance) Valdez, Denver, CO, Dillon R. (Laura) Valdez, Provo, UT, and Chaz Valdez, Provo, UT.; sisters: Susie Farnsworth, Odgen, UT, Delores (John) Koense, Orem, UT, Linda (Brent) Malan, Riverton, UT, Leona (Eldon) Haskell, Springville, UT, and Nancy Valdez, Midvale, UT. Grandchildren: Dominic, Elijah, Jaylinne and Kaycie, and The "Brothers" he left behind; the Bullock family (Jane), and Shane Koense. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe T. and Donna Valdez and one older sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 12:00 pm at the Orem City Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00-11:30 am, prior to services at the LDS Church located at 891 West 130 North, Orem, UT. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for help with funeral expenses at any Mountain America Credit Union in the name of Kenny J. Valdez funeral fund.
