Kevin Dale Bourgoin, 26, beloved son of Bruce and Melanie Bourgoin, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, March 21, 2009. He was born in St. George, Utah on November 26, 1982. Kevin's children Dillon, Jordan and Kayla were his pride and joy and he spent every minute he could with them. His favorite thing to do was to take his kids riding in the rhino, as they would get so excited.
Kevin attended elementary and secondary schools in Washington. He was a very adaptable, smart, talented and creative person. He worked as a plumber for Bringhurst Plumbing and just the last few years as a diesel mechanic at Southwest Diesel. He was mostly self taught in the mechanics of all kinds. He, his brother Kyle and their dad Bruce, spent years restoring old cars, working on four wheelers, motorcycles and their dirt bikes. He was a great welder and was good at whatever he wanted to do.
Kevin had a kind heart, and was a gentle sensitive young man. Everyone that knew him loved him. He had a great love for animals and birds. He had many pets throughout his life and had so much joy in playing with them.
When he was just a small child he spent most of his summers and weekends on his grandpa Dale's farm. He was like a shadow, learning and doing everything a farmer would do. He loved to irrigate and play in the water and plowed ground. He spent untold hours in the pond where he would play with the fish. He would dive in the pond and catch a 3 foot catfish, carry it to the house with it's tail dragin the ground, put it in a little wading pool, then get some crayish and put them in also. Then he would join them and play all afternoon. When he was tired he would carry them back to the pond and turn them loose. He could catch any animal or bird he wanted to look at or hold. At any given time you would see him carrying frogs, a duck, goose, chicken or peacock. Sometimes they were about half his size,
Kevin was a wonderful, unique little boy so curious about everything and not afraid to try anything. His summers were delight as he and his cousins invented things to do. He talked a lot about wanting to see the Wamp Monster (Swamp Monster). It was make-believe but so scary. He and cousin Mike rode their bicycles off a ramp they built and landed in the pond. They had empty milk jugs attatched to their bikes so they would float. Then they would have to take them apart and oil them up. A book could be written about Kevin's adventures.
Kevin loved his dirt bike and spent many hours at the dunes riding with friends. Kevin was a very lovable person and has always been helpful and kind especially to his family. Kevin and his mother Melanie has a very special bond. During their high school years Kevin's sister Katy Vi and he were great friends and just these last few months has become very close. He and his brother Kyle were the best of friends and did many things together. He had a special relationship with his dad Bruce and the three of them enjoyed their fondness of cars and racing.
He is survived by his sons, Dillon and Jordan and his daughter Kayla. Ex-Wife Katie Heller. His parents Bruce and Melanie Bourgoin, his brother Kyle (Tracie) their children Mkinlee and Parker, Sister Katy Vi (Tommy) Horn their boys Seth and Graham; His grandparents Dale and Viona Wilson of Laverkin and Grandmother Gibby of Chandler, Arizona; as well as numerous cousins, friends, aunts and uncles.
We will miss our Kevin more than words can say. Until we meet again.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Washington Fields Stake Center, 3285 South 3000 West in Washington, Utah.
