LaVene Mallory Merrill

LaVene Mallory Merrill passed away August 24, 2012 at Elk Meadows Assisted Living Center in Oakley, UT. She was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Logan, UT the daughter of Joseph Mallory and Lena Kaufman Mallory. She married Virgil Grant Merrill on August 19, 1936. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, LDS Temple on Feb. 28, 1955. She was active in the LDS Church holding many positions including working in the Logan Temple for five years. She and Grant loved their many friends in Quartzite, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Merrill and their son, Dewayne Merrill, his daughter, Shelley. She is survived by her children: Lynn Smith of Maricopa, AZ, Virgil (Sara) Merrill of Salt Lake, UT, Monty (Dee) Merrill, of Salt Lake, UT, Toni (Danny) Thomas of Heber, UT, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the special staff of Elk Meadows who loved and cared for her for the last two years. Funeral Services will be held at Elk Meadows, 4200 No. 400 West, Oakley, UT, Tuesday, August 28, 2012 with a viewing starting at 10:00 am until 10:45 with the funeral beginning at 11:00 with the interment in the Smithfield, UT Cemetery.
