Lee Ann Knapp, age 76, passed away in Provo, Utah, February 23, 2025 from health complications.
Born August 28, 1948, in Madigan General Hospital in Fort Lewis, Washington, Pierce County. But many years later, Fort Worth closed, and they renamed it Tacoma, Washington.
Lee Ann was the oldest daughter of the late Leon Henry Knapp and June Elveda Altop Knapp. They divorced when she and her brother, Roy Alan Knapp were very young. Her mother raised Roy and Lee Ann by herself. They lived in Oakland and San Leandro, California, then Orem, Utah for the last 35+ years.
Lee Ann graduated from Chico State University (1974), then earned her masters degree at BYU in Recreation Management. (1982). She worked many jobs over the years, but finished her career working in the Bureau of Reclamation as a contract Specialist working on projects like Jordanelle Dam and Renovations at Deer Creek State Park.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She lived her life demonstrating unconditional Christlike love to her family and her community. She never gave up the chance to help those that were in need and enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer her time.
She volunteered in the elementary reading programs, Scera Theater, Thanksgiving Point, was on the board for MAGS, and served in the office of the Mount Timpanogos Temple.
Lee Ann loved genealogy, writing emails to Missionaries, planning family gatherings and parties. These loves have been passed on to those around her.
Lee Ann was also an adventurous traveller with her favorite destinations being Jackson, Wyoming, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, and California; particularly Lake Shasta and Yosemite National Park. Her curiosity and sense of adventure took her to many unique places across the United States.
She found great joy in being with her family and friends. Keeping us all together and connected was what motivated her. To know her is to love her.
Preceded in death by her father in 1987, her mother in 2010, and her brother in 1997.
Lee Ann is survived by her Nieces April Kemp, Sara (Mark) Brockman, and their daughters Kodee Bates, Alexis Loposky and Jenna Brockman. She was able to recently connect with a half brother, Mike Knapp who resides in California. The Bursach Family called her Aunt Lee Ann, though she is the first cousin once removed to Jim (Shannon), children Zakk (Michelle), Trevor (Karlee), Jordan (Jovana) with daughter Nata, Brock (Amanda) children Cooper & Brinley, and Ashlyn. We will miss having dinner and celebrating holidays with her.
