Leslie Leatherwood Agutter passed away quietly on Wednesday March 14th.
She was born on October 14, 1942 in Bonham, Texas to Helen and L.E. (George) Leatherwood. She moved to Utah in 1969 with her husband, E. Ray Agutter and made Salt Lake City her home. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Utah in Psychology in 1980 and worked for over 30 years as a clinical psychologist.
She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and friend. She moved through life with a quiet dignity and a happy whistle. We will miss her sense of humor, her kindness, her sweet tickles, and her love of long walks.
She is survived by her daughter, Kevin Shaw and son-in-law, Scott Shaw; her son, Jim Agutter, daughter-in-law, Karri Schlegel and grandchildren, Sophie and Eli Agutter; ex-husband, E. Ray Agutter; her sister, Helen (Len) Leatherwood and brother-in-law, Ray Beaty; brother, Sam Leatherwood; nine nieces and one nephew; as well as dear friends, Susan, Steven and daughter Addie Bradford.
Her father, mother, and three brothers, John, Jim, and George preceded her in death.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral (231 East 100 South) on Saturday March 24th at 1:00 pm. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Odyssey House of Utah in Leslie's name at Odysseyhouse.org.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mount Olympus Rehabilitation Center, St. Joseph's Villa, and Caresource Hospice for their attentive care and exceptional kindness.
