LeVeta Irene McRoy Barnes passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Magna, Utah. She was born on September 30, 1925 to Curtis and Nellie Humphrey McRoy in Missouri.
LeVeta married Thomas E. Barnes on August 22, 1946 in Arkansas. They have 5 children along with 2 others. LeVeta was always studying with all her children helping them with their homework.
She loved to write poetry, loved to grow roses, and had a vegetable garden every year. She also loved fishing, hunting and camping. She loved to drive to see her family while they were alive in Missouri. She very much loved her family.
She was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma.
She is survived by her children Peggy Wilkes, David Barnes, Raymond Barnes, Shirley Sellers and Thomas Barnes and her beloved other children Jesse Barnes and Christine Barnes. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Anne Harper.
There will be a memorial service held in her honor on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the LDS Chapel located at 3750 West 4400 South, Magna, Utah at 1:00 p.m.
