Linwood Lester Murphy

Our beloved Linwood Lester Murphy passed away on June 26, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by his family. He was born on April 18, 1969 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Rufus Roy Murphy, Sr. and Lois Ricks Murphy.
Linny attended Paul De Camp Community College where he received his associate's degree in Drafting. He worked as a custodian in Salt Lake City for the school district.
Linny's life was his children and grandchildren. We will miss him, his gentle heart and beautiful smile. He enjoyed playing chess and collecting vintage comic books.
His children are Anthony O'Neil Brooks-Murphy, Alexander Devaughn Brooks-Murphy, stepdaughters Janay Antionette Brooks and April Virginia Bhatia-Gomez. His grandchildren are Deisani Don Kumar Gomez, Deijah Starr Swanigan, Korde Valentino Adams, Eve Relene Gomez, Lamys Idrees Adams and Lamya Idrees Adams.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. under the direction of SereniCare Funeral Home, 12278 S. Lone Peak Parkway, Draper, Utah.
The funeral will be held in Courtland, Virginia under the direction of Engram Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Zion's Church Cemetery in Courtland, Virginia.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff and doctors at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah for their kindness in caring for Linny.
