Lois Tanner, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter was born 29 August 1951. Liberated from the ravaging effects of ALS on 14 July 2009, passing peacefully beyond this mortal plain in her return to again be able to walk along with her Heavenly Father. She began her journey in Panguitch, Utah with many stops in Utah, California, and Idaho all the while being an inspiration to many. The last chapters being written in Herriman, Utah. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was her family of 6 children and 12 grandchildren. She felt a great deal of joy in her work as an Aide for the Jordan School District for her last eight years. Her faith was unfailing while she dealt with the insidious nature of her affliction. Always seemed to have a smile and positive attitude no matter how much physical discomfort she felt. She is survived by her husband Shirl Tanner, her children; Greg (Candi) Tanner, Herriman; Debbie (Brian) Clark, South Jordan; Stephanie (Bryan) Metzler, South Jordan; CW (Melissa) Franz, Herriman; Amber Grimes , Okinawa, Japan; and Elysa (Brody) Griggs, Herriman. Also survived by her parents Marie and Clair Mortensen of West Jordan, sisters Tanya, DeAne, Michelle and brother Howard. Funeral Services will be held at the West Herriman Stake Center, 13768 South Rose Canyon Rd. Herriman, UT, on Saturday July 18th at 10:00 AM with interment at the Herriman City Cemetery to follow. A viewing will be held at the Stake Center on Friday July 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and also 1 hour prior to the services.
