Lori Linda Maus Durrant, 48, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 in her home following a difficult but courageous eight year battle with cancer. She was born June 25, 1962 in Boise Idaho to Richard L and Starlene Tilby Maus. She is the youngest of five children.
Lori grew up in Boise Idaho. She met her husband, Douglas B. Durrant, in 1987 and they were sealed in the Boise Idaho temple on August 13, 1988. They have four children who were all born before the family moved to Lehi, Utah where they have lived since 2000.
Lori's priority in life was her family. Everything she did and everything she enjoyed centered around them. She loved scrapbooking because that was all about family and working with family pictures and memories. She loved traveling just about anywhere with her family and enjoyed nature. She loved the Lord and had a strong testimony of the Gospel. Lori was also a die hard Boise State football fan.
Lori is the mother of four wonderful children.
Carter, (19 and currently serving an LDS mission in Taiwan): "Mom, thank you for 19 years of selfless love and service. We'll remember you for a lot of things, including your laugh and your uncanny ability to find anything we lost. But the greatest thing I'll remember you for is how you gave your life to your family. You loved us more than anything else, and everything you did was for us. Thank you for your love and example. We'll be together again. Love, Carter"
Dillon, (17): "You were always the best example to me. You taught me hard work, commitment, and dedication, as well as how to be a diligent servant of God. I followed your example of a strong testimony and turned to the Lord in my hardships just as you did. Thank you for the memories and for raising me as you did. Love, Dillon"
Megan, (14): "Mom, I'm glad I got to play the piano for you one last time. I promise I'll keep playing for you. I will always remember your laugh and smile. I hope that as you watch me from Heaven, you will keep smiling and laughing. I'm glad you aren't sick anymore and you are free to walk. I know I will see you again, and that this isn't goodbye, it's see-you-later. Love, Megan"
Kelsi, (11): "Dear Mom, I love you so much. When I think about what a wonderful person you were and still are, I cry. I miss your smiling face, your great sense of humor, but most of all I miss your hugs. I know that our family will be together again. I wish you could be here with me, but I understand that Heavenly Father needs you. I love you, Mom. ~Kelsi"
Lori is survived by her mother and four siblings: Eric Maus (Debbie), Douglas Maus (Laurie), Kevin Maus (Dana) and Shannon Angus (Mike), all from the Boise area. Lori was preceded in death by her father.
