Lorin Mack Wardleigh, age 71, died at his residence in Ogden, UT on August 7, 2010. Mack was born May 18, 1939 in Ogden, UT , where he lived his whole life. He graduated from Ben Lomond High in 1957 and attended Weber College studying business. He served 6 years in the US Army and Army Reserves, receiving commendations as Sharpshooter Rifleman for M-1 and M-14 class rifles as well as receiving his Expert classification with the carbine. He started at Fort Douglas Utah and completed his service as an Administrative Specialist at Fort Hood Texas, after a year's service in Korea's Demarcation Zone. He received his honorable discharge in 1967. Mack was well known in the Ogden clothing business, where he worked for the Fred M. Nye Co. He was manager of the "Cellar" dept where he had a flair for style. He made many life-long friends there, who still keep in touch today. After Nyes, he opened his own clothing store, the "Joel" shop in SLC at Trolley Square. He also worked in the Men's suit department at Dillard's until taking a two year hiatus to care for his mother. The past several years he has worked as a cashier and manager at Stop & Shop where he made many more friends and loyal customers who would wait in line just to visit with him. He was an avid golfer who always played by the rules. He also loved to watch golf matches on TV along with all sports. He loved the old classic movies, had an extensive movie collection, and was happy to share them with everyone. He is survived by his sister GayLynn W. (Robert) Strong and five nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 14 2010, 10:30 am, at Ogden City Cemetery.
