Lucille Clark Evans

June 11, 1929, Lucille Clark Evans was born to Robert and Algerine Clark in Wright City, Oklahoma.  She was the oldest of 3 girls.  The Clark family later moved to Houston, Texas in 1936.

Lucille accepted Christ at an early age.  She joined Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Linsey.

Lucille attended Phillis Wheatley High School and later moved to Louisville Kentucky and completed her high school education.  She attended Prairie View A and M and also took classes at University of Louisville.

Lucille united in holy matrimony to Sgt. William O. Evans and to this union , one son was born, Sgt. Robert E. Evans. Due to her husband being in the United States Army, Lucille was afforded the opportunity to travel and live in different countries.

After her husband’s active duty ended, Lucille and her family moved to Houston,Texas and she re-united with Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. V. Adams.  She was an active member of the Seniors In Action until her heath failed her and she was no longer able to attend.

Lucille had a variety of recreational activities which included golf, bowling, craft, and bingo.

Once her health declined, her son moved her to Holladay, Utah so he could supervise her care.

Lucille is preceded in death by her father (Robert Clark), mother (Algerine Clark), husband (William O. Evans) and Daughter-in-law (Frances Evans).

Lucille leaves to cherish her memories, her son (Robert E. Evans) of West Jordan, Utah , twin sisters (Thelma Pemberton and Velma Taylor) both from Houston,Texas, 3 Nieces (Joyce Stewart Bell, Elizabeth Taylor, and Dorene Hancock) and a host of relatives and friends.

There will be a graveside service November 29, 2022 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S 1700 W, Bluffdale, Utah at 1:00 p.m.
