Lucile Maughan Stanger, passed through the veil Saturday, April 17, 2010, at her home in St. George, UT. Lucile was born August 27, 1922, to Edward L. Maughan and Loretta Wilson Maughan in Preston, Idaho. On June 11, 1941, she married Benjamin H. Stanger in the Logan LDS temple. Lucile was the mother of and is survived by five children; Diane Stanger Bodily, Edward B. (Robin) Stanger, Garth L. (Barbara) Stanger, Ilene (Dale) Peterson and Suzie Stanger. She also is survived by eight grandchildren; Wade Barlow, Teri Bodily, Corey Stanger, Samuel Stanger, Sara (Coomes) Stanger, Allison (Holland) Stanger, Amanda Stanger, Shane Peterson, and eight great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a grandson Edward Scott Stanger.
Lucile lived her life for others, especially her children and family. She accepted numerous callings in her church and her favorite was her many years serving as Primary President. But her greatest joy was her extended "family" at Weber County Memorial Hospital where she spent twenty five years serving as Director of Patient Services. She continued to serve former patients, right up to her death, by decorating the graves of those who had no family.
In the prime of her life, Lucile loved to sing and joined various choirs and was a much sought after soloist at church meetings. She loved the outdoors, flowers, birds and all animals. Her favorite activity was to picnic in the canyon with her family.
Lucile and her family are appreciative of the many kind hearted souls who served her and them during her illness.
Lucile will be interred in the Logan City Utah Cemetery. Services will be private and it is suggested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
