Madeline Cleo Franell Watkins "Grandma Bingo"
Madeline Watkins passed away peacefully at her home on November 29, 2011 at the age of 89.
Madeline was born on January 3, 1922 to William Perry Franell and Jessie Rachel Carles in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
In 1942 Madeline joined the Womens Army Auxiliary Corps at Camp Hood in Texas. While at Camp Hood she met and married Wendall Armstrong Watkins in July of 1944 in Texas. In 1946 Madeline and Wendall moved to American Fork, Utah and made it their home.
Madeline is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband. She is survived by her sister Olive, her daughters Gwen Miller (Chip) and Carolyn Williamson (Chris), 10 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great, Great Grandchildren.
Madeline enjoyed playing bingo every chance she got, she enjoyed going to the Orem Friendship Center for over 30 years, she was known at the center for wearing costumes and decorating her table for every holiday. Madeline preformed in Hotel Frankenstein for over 23 years at the Valley Center Playhouse in Lindon, Utah. She received several awards for her performance.
Madeline was the strongest person anyone knew, especially for surviving breast cancer twice when she was over the age of 70. The most important thing of all to Madeline was spending quality time with her family.
Grandma Bingo always said "As long as you have family, nothing else matters". We love and will miss Grandma Bingo always and forever.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10:30am at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel located at, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, UT. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to services.
Interment will be held at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park located at, 17111 South Camp Williams Road Bluffdale, Utah 84065
