Margaret Adamson McDevitt, 93, passed away on May 1, 2010, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born March 8, 1917, in Salt Lake City to David Edwin (Dick) Adamson and Rebecca Rawson Adamson. She attended East High School and the University of Utah; she married Charles L. McDevitt in Salt Lake City on April 25, 1941. He died in 1998. Margaret is survived by one daughter, Marian McDevitt, of Salt Lake City; her sister (double-first cousin), Lennox Adamson Larson-Deem, of Salt Lake City and Palm Springs, California; her half-brother, Dr. Robert K. Adamson and his wife, Dottie, of San Francisco, California, and several cousins. Margaret was a kind, elegant lady who loved her family and many friends. She was an excellent wife, mother, cook, hostess and an exert bridge player. She always took the time to listen and to care. She was fond of the Utah Symphony and the Jazz. She was quick to smile and to laugh. She lived life with a twinkle and a special gift to nurture others. For ten years she has been slipping away due to Alzheimer's disease, a relentlessly cruel illness that has deprived her loved ones of her grace and gentleness for a long, long time. Thanks are due to special family members, friends and healthcare professionals who helped and loved Margaret in her final years and moments. Margaret's life will be commemorated privately
