Margarita Chavez, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. She was born May 26, 1920 in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico to Isidro Reyes and Apolinar Resendez both of Monterrey. She was educated at various schools in Mexico, majoring in music. She married José© Chavez Prieto on September 1, 1945. They had 7 children, Cesar, Efrain, Rosalva, Alma Elia, José© Luis, Ismael, and Josefina.

When Margarita was young, she was active in sports, excelling in basketball and other sports. She enjoyed playing the piano, spending valuable time with her husband José©, children and grand children and serving in the church. Our beloved mother and grandmother lived an exemplary and honorable life as a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in various positions of responsibilities, including a fulltime mission.

She is survived by her children, her brother, Rodolfo Reyes of Laredo, Texas, 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Abel and sister Irene.

Funeral Services will be held will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Aspen 8th Ward located at 1485 North 800 West, Orem, Utah at 6:00 PM. Interment will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in Monterrey, Mexico. Online condolences may be given at www.serenicare.com
