With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of María Luisa Flores Urviola, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She departed peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the age of 57, in her home, surrounded by the love of her children.
She is survived by her father, Luis Flores Cuba; her mother, Yolanda Urviola Abarca; her children, Malú and Mauricio; and her grandson, Luciano.
She was born in Puno, Peru, on February 9, 1968. From an early age, she showed a generous, resilient, and loving spirit. As a daughter, she honored and cherished her parents; as a mother and grandmother, she was protective, dedicated, and ever-present; as a sister, she gave love and guidance to her younger siblings; and as a friend, she was a loyal and trusted confidante.
Affectionately known as “Malichi,” she was a joyful, intelligent, and hardworking woman. Her talent and passion for gastronomy made her an exceptional hostess, and her love for music and dance enriched the lives of those around her. Devoted to her family, friends, and beloved pets, she left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
She leaves an immense void, but also the invaluable legacy of her strength, her patience in the face of challenges, and her unwavering love for family and friendship. Her laughter, her lessons, and her example will forever live on in our hearts.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 4 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at City View Memoriam, 1001 E 11th Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103

Con profundo dolor, anunciamos el fallecimiento de María Luisa Flores Urviola, amada hija, madre, abuela, hermana y amiga. Partió en paz el 24 de febrero de 2025, a los 57 años, en su hogar, rodeada por el amor de sus hijos.
La sobreviven su padre, Luis Flores Cuba; su madre, Yolanda Urviola Abarca; sus hijos, Malú y Mauricio; y su nieto, Luciano.
Nació en Puno, Perú, el 9 de febrero de 1968. Desde temprana edad, demostró un espíritu generoso, resiliente y amoroso. Como hija, honró y amó a sus padres; como madre y abuela, fue protectora, dedicada y siempre presente; como hermana, brindó amor y guía a sus hermanos menores; y como amiga, fue confidente y leal.
Conocida cariñosamente como “Malichi”, fue una mujer alegre, inteligente y trabajadora. Su talento y pasión por la gastronomía la convirtieron en una anfitriona excepcional, y su amor por la música y la danza enriqueció la vida de quienes la rodeaban. Devota de su familia, amigos y sus queridas mascotas, dejó una huella imborrable en todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.
Nos deja un vacío inmenso, pero también el invaluable legado de su fortaleza, su paciencia ante los desafíos y su inquebrantable amor por la familia y la amistad. Su risa, sus enseñanzas y su ejemplo vivirán siempre en nuestros corazones.
