MARIE BRADSHAW SCOFFIELD
Marie Bradshaw Scoffield, born May 18, 1921 in Tremonton, Utah, the third child of Daniel Walters Bradshaw and Irene Tyner Bradshaw. Siblings Daniel (deceased) sisters, Helen (deceased) Lillian (deceased) and Georgia Ann. She was raised on a farm in Tremonton where she learned the work ethic she passed on to her children. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1940.
She met and Married the love of her life, Deen Abbott Scoffield May 18, 1941. They had 4 children , Patricia Marie, Paula Jane, Deen Bradshaw and Robert C (Link). Her son Deen, preceded her in death in 1967. Twelve years after their marriage they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Deen passed away 18 days before their 60th wedding anniversary.
Marie was multi-talented and artistic. She painted with watercolors, oils, and later with fabric making beautiful quilts. She was a superior float designer and builder winning many awards in the Days of 47 Parades. She was a florist, a seamstress, and a designer of exquisite Christmas trees.
Marie loved working in the Jordan River temple as an ordinance worker where she worked with Dad for 18 years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and had an extraordinary green thumb. She loved working in the dirt and had a beautiful yard full of flowers.
Marie shared her quilting skills by teaching classes to young women as well as giving tips to seasoned quilters. She had a quilt named the 47th Star published in a Utah Heritage Quilt Book.
She was a loving Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma (GG), as well as a great friend. She was our Dad's favorite dance partner and shared their dancing with all of us.
We are so happy they are together again, just 1 month and 1 day short of their 70th Anniversary. We love and miss you already Mom.
