Marion Janet Hair Hardy passed away June 22, 2008 in Sandy, Utah. She was born August 30, 1915 in Midway, Utah to the late Samuel M. and Margaret A. Murri Hair. She graduated from Wasatch High School, served as a missionary in the East Central States Mission, and worked for two years in Alhambra, California before marrying Donn S. Hardy, May 9, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. For the first 35 years of her life, except for her mission and the time in California, she lived in various locations in Utah - Layton, Heber City, and Midway. The family then moved to Morenci, Arizona for 8 years, and then to Needles, California where she lived for over 40 years and where her husband died April 7, 1998. Soon afterward she moved in with her son in Sandy. She was active in the LDS church her entire life, serving in many church positions. She played piano and most stringed instruments though her favorite was the violin. She was a choir director most of her life and in Needles directed a quartet that sang at numerous weddings and funerals. She worked as a school cafeteria cook and as a church custodian primarily to help send all three of her sons on missions. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Afton, and by her brothers Murri, Dee, Don, John (Jack), Bob, and Lee. She is survived by her sons Paul (Linda) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Dale (Barbara) of Sandy, Utah; and Wayne (Melinda) of Sierra Vista, Arizona; Sisters, Stella Luke of Midway, Utah and Gay Howard of Northridge, California; Brother, Tom (Donna) of Phoenix, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing to be held at Crescent 16th Ward, 275 East 10600 South, Friday, June 27 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, June 28 8:00 to 9:30 am. Funeral services to be held at the same location at 10:00 am Saturday June 28.
