Marjorie Helen O'Keefe Johnson

Marjorie O. Johnson
Marjorie was born on December 12, 1916 in Indiana and passed away on November 29, 2011 just a few days shy of her 95th birthday. The daughter of Elsie Helen and Louis Edward O'Keefe, she grew up with her two sisters, Joyce and Louise, in Toulon, Illinois.
She graduated from the University of Illinois with a BA in German Literature and English. While there, she met her future husband Clayton Erick Johnson (deceased 1994). They were married for 55 years and lived in many states for the first few years of their marriage. Her last 52 years were spent in Utah.
Marjorie loved to garden, and she was into organic food before it was a fad. She loved to study, mostly scripture, and she was relentless in correcting grammatical errors in her children. Her sense of humor (and arguably, her politics) improved as she aged Her favorite answer to "How are you?" was "Thankful!"
She found great joy and support in her family: her sister, Joyce, her nieces and nephews, her five children and their spouses, her 12 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren. She also appreciated the love and support of her SDA church family. Her faith was an inspiration to many and it sustained her through life's ups and downs. She died confident in the promise of the Resurrection. She'll be missed.

We would especially like to thank Nina, Yolanda, Fedora, and the staffs at The Coventry, and at St. Marks Hospital and Rehab Unit. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10, at the Wasatch Hills Seventh-Day Adventist church at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice or practice random acts of kindness.
