Marjorie Marie Towns Johnson

Marjorie Marie Towns Johnson 1921-2010
Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on December 9, 2010 at Alta View Hospital in Sandy, UT. Marjorie was born on April 4, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to James Edward Towns and Lillian Marie Louden Towns. She grew up in Chicago and earned her Diploma/Degree in Nursing at St. Luke's Presbyterian Hospital. She worked there for a short while until she met her beloved husband, Arthur Frederick Johnson. They married on April 22, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Marjorie is survived by her four children Carol (Roger) Horne, Neil (Judy) Johnson, Dianne (Richard) Sano, and Brian (Janet) Johnson, her brother Gordon (Geraldine) Towns, ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother (James Edward) and her husband of 51 years.
Marjorie spent her life caring for her family teaching them integrity, good values and honesty. She was an amazing cook, gardener, homemaker and seamstress/quilter. She was also incredibly organized. Her whole wheat rolls and annual Christmas cookies were the best! She had a wonderfully dry sense of humor and provided us all with hours of entertainment and laughs, even until the very end.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and physicians at Alta View Hospital and Intermountain Hospice for their gentle, loving, and compassionate care. A special thanks to Susan Lance who brightened Marge's life this past year with her amazingly wonderful care.
There will be no services at her request and Marjorie will be interred at a future date in Chicago, Illinois.
