Mark Edward Bakowski passed away on October 10th, 2008 from cancer after reaching his goals of seeing his grandson born and son return from his mission.
Born to Edward J. and Theresa Kruzynski Bakowski on August 17th, 1961 in Buffalo , New York . Raised on Broadway where he had many fond memories of his childhood. His many stories were fun to listen to. Mark said, "He had the best childhood."
He was on the swim team in grade school and lettered in tennis at Emerson High. He joined the US Marine Corps where he worked on the hydraulics of the A-4 Skyhawk. While stationed in Yuma, Arizona in 1982, he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Married Terri Marie Craig on March 27, 1983. On August 26, 1983, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple. After an honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps, they moved back to Buffalo and were blessed with two wonderful children. He went to Burgard Vocational School for a FAA license to work on aircraft. Moved to New Jersey and then to Utah. Worked for Rocky Mountain Helicopters and Voest Alpine. He loved his last job at BYU in Facility Services and had never met a finer bunch of people. He loved going to work everyday. Enjoyed coaching the Springville High hockey team. The highlight of his day was seeing his grandson smile.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edward (Scotty) Bakowski and father in-law, Samuel O. Pritchett.
Survived by his wife, Terri, daughter, Allyson (Kevin) Bryan, grandson, Cache, son, Scott, mother, Theresa Bakowski, siblings, Mary (Kenny) Martynkiewicz, Marty (Debbie) Bakowski and Michelle (Larry) Kania. In-laws: Sally Pritchett, Toby (Delena) Craig, Mike (Jennifer) Craig, Mark (Lorri) Craig and Robyn (Brett) Gines.
The family would like to thank the many people who touched Mark and his family's lives, the doctors and nurses at Central Utah Medical Clinic (Cancer Center) and Vista Care Hospice. Also a very special friend whom we love, Nancy Trapnell, his nurse.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 15th at 11 A.M. with a viewing one hour prior to the service at the Springville Utah Spring Creek South Stake, 350 North 400 East. There will be a viewing on Tuesday evening October 14th from 6-8 P.M. at the Springville Utah Spring Creek South Stake. Burial at Springville Historic City Cemetery.
