Martha Jeanine Reidhead

1947 ~ 2012
Martha Jeanine Reidhead passed away on May 16, 2012.
"Jeanie",65, was born on March 8,1947 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the daughter of Travis and Patricia Glenn. The Glenn Family moved regularly during Jeanie's childhood and would frequently spend the winter and spring months in Phoenix, and the summer and fall months in California. Jeanie attended Alhambra High School in Phoenix.
After high school Jeanie became a licensed wig stylist. She completed her training just as wigs fell out of fashion in the early 70's. The skills she learned enabled her to be the family "hairstylist" for much of the rest of her life.
She met Jack G. Fuller and they were married on the 7th of October 1966. Jeanie and Jack later divorced and she married Roger W. Howell on the 26th of September 1970.
Jeanie returned to school and became a data processer. She worked as a key-punch and then a key-disk operator for many years. A great deal of that time was at PDPS computer services in Phoenix.
Jeanie and Roger were divorced in 1979 and she and her children moved to Heber, AZ. It is in Heber in February of 1980 that she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. One year later (28 February 1981), she married Marvin Arch (Archie) Reidhead in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Jeanie and Archie made a home together in Heber and raised her three children.
Jeanie returned to school in the early 1990's and became a travel agent. She worked for a few years in that industry until she was forced to stop working after back surgery.
Jeanie moved to West Valley City, Utah in 2005 as her health began to decline. In 2008, after struggling with multiple falling episodes and bouts of pneumonia, she was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis. IBM is an inflammatory muscle disease that causes slow progressive weakness and wasting of the muscles. It is a rare disease and effects more men than women. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Inflammation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Muscle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Disease.
Not long after her diagnosis, she moved into the Rocky Mountain Care Center on Pioneer Parkway. She became a resident advocate and member of multiple committees. She was also the editor of the newsletter and wrote a column entitled "Jeanie's Gesture".
Jeanie was an avid family history researcher, a passion that she shared with her mother and eldest son. She has written poems, short stories and at least one novel. She loved reading, painting, crocheting, embroidery, needlepoint, quilting, and interior design. Jeanie was a student of history and was always up to date on new discoveries and political machinations. Jeanie loved the arts. She was a drama mom and grandma who supported two generations of thespians. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Jeanie is survived by her husband Archie, children: Brian Fuller, Brenda Sabin & Jason (Michele) Howell, daughters-in-law: Cathy Fuller and Stacie Welch, step- children: Irma (Ray) Pouge, Archie (Doris) Reidhead, Antonio (Patricia) Reidhead and Dione Reidhead.
Jeanie had twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and their children, she is also survived by her siblings Terry (Nancy) Glenn, Sandi Frazier, Vicki (Chuck) Sleeseman, and Jeff (Vickie) Glenn.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Travis and Patricia Glenn, as well as by her sister Shirley and her brothers Shelby and Travis Allen.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the RMC Hunter Hollow Facility, 4090 West Pioneer Parkway.
