Mary Edna Petterborg Cox passed away peacefully on May 19, 2011.
Born June 20, 1920 in Richmond, Utah to Lee Arnold Petterborg and Edna Matilda Sorenson. Married Marion George Cox in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple, September 4, 1942.
A resident of Cottonwood, Salt Lake County, since 1948. Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mary served in the Primary and Relief Society where she shared her love of music with her neighbors. She sang with the Treble Clefs Chorus. She loved and served her family and neighbors. She enjoyed sharing special events in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and knew everyone's birthdates.
Survived by her loving husband, Marion; three daughters and two sons: Carol Jean (Milton) Hadley, Alease Guymon, Kathleen (Wayne) Richardson, Ronald (Vicki) and Brent (Lori) Cox; nineteen grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Miriam Petterborg.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother Junior Lee "Pete" Petterborg; sisters Norine (Keith) Fry and Lamoine (Evan) Crawley; son-in-law, Del Roy Guymon and grandson, Gene Troy Guymon.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 6-8 pm. A second viewing will be held Wednesday, May 25 from 9-10:30 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. The location for the viewings and funeral is the Cottonwood 8th Ward Chapel at 6301 South 2300 East, SLC, UT.
