Taylorsville, UT - Matthew returned to his Heavenly Father, unexpectedly, on March 5, 2012, at age 19. He is the son of Maria Lynn Werrett and Randall Redmond. Matthew grew up in the Salt Lake Valley. He was raised by his mother, Maria Werrett, and his grandparents, Bill and Jackie Werrett. He grew up with his sister, Maia Dae Werrett. He has a big extended family and many friends who love him.
He brought so much joy to his family. His grandparents enjoyed taking care of him when he was young. They remember taking him camping and hiking and him walking for miles in the canyon at the age of 4, without complaining. He was such a trooper!
Matthew was a bright child. He loved math and reading. He kept himself busy and was often found skate boarding, snow boarding, climbing trees (and houses), jumping on the tramp, even jumping off the roof of the house, onto the tramp!
As a teenager he taught himself to play the guitar and had a real talent for it. His friends agree that he had a positive attitude and a great sense of humor. He loved adventure and had big dreams and goals for the future. He was an affectionate young man who loved getting and giving hugs.
Recently, he was excited about modeling, acting and fitness. He was so proud of his muscles and enjoyed working out.
We are all saddened that his life was cut short. We, too, had hopes and dreams for him. We are so grateful for the knowledge that we will see Matt again one day.
He is deeply loved and he will be missed.
On Saturday, March 17th, at 1:00pm, a Memorial Service will be held at the LDS Westbrook 6th Ward Chapel located at 6364 S. 3200 W., West Jordan, Utah.
