Max Bullock Merryweather
Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at his home to return to his eternal companion and loving Heavenly Father, Saturday, March 31, 2007. He was 82 years old, born May 23rd,1924 to Frank A. and Maud Bullock Merryweather. Max served his country with honor during WWII in the Philippines where he received the Purple Heart. After the war he attended BYU for a year before attending Central Utah Vocational school where he studied electronics. Max worked at Dugway Proving Grounds as an electrician and the Parts Coordinator.
He married his sweetheart, Jean Beardall Dec. 14, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple. She preceded him in death in 1960, but (Loves Flames Will Burn Forever.)
As a lifetime member of both D.A.V. and VFW he served in many capacities including Commander. Max served in varied callings as a member of the LDS church. Some of his fondest memories in life were from his Mission in San Antonio, Texas. He loved eating ice cream, fishing, hunting, travel, gardening, coin collecting, painting and the mountains. His most cherished time was being with his family, especially the youth. Spreading sunshine and smiles wherever he went, he will be greatly missed by all.
Survived by children: Steven Max (Stephanie) Merryweather, Heber City, Ut; Cindy M. (Tom) DeVault, SLC, Ut; 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great grandchildren with 4 more expected this year. Brothers; Keith Merryweather, Provo, Ut; Frank (JoAnn) Merryweather, Pleasant Grove, Ut.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 3 at 7-8:30pm at the Valley View Ward LDS Chapel, located at 5422 So. Sarah Jane Dr. (5380 West) SLC, Ut. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 4th at 11:00am in the Springville 1st & 5th Ward LDS Chapel located at 245 So. 600 East (across from the Jr. High) Springville, Ut. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery located at 1997 S. 400 E. in Springville directly following the ceremony.
