St. George, UT, Maxine Carter Freeman passed away in her sleep Saturday, November 12, 2011, in St. George, UT. She was born August 11, 1924, in St. George, UT to Donald and LaPrele Carter. Maxine was married to Max Gentry, also of St. George, who preceded her in death in 1977. She later married Gene Freeman of Idaho, also preceding her in death in 1996.
Maxine raised and is survived by her two beautiful and talented girls, Jolene (Kent) Rex of Chicago, Illinois and Janis Goates (Hal) of Salt Lake City, Utah. Her girls were the pride and joy of her life and she always wanted to know where they were and how they were doing. A very social and loving person, Maxine found it easy to make and keep friends, a rare talent these days. Maxine was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She always lent a listening ear and found time to be by anybody's side who needed her help.
Thank you to the special care she was given in the last weeks of her life by the caring and professional staff of the Red Cliffs Rehab and Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held in her honor Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at SereniCare Funeral Home, 1316 S. 400 E. Suite A3, St. George, UT, 84790. A visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the funeral service at same location. Internment will take place at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
