Megan Ann Empey

Megan Ann Empey was born February 12, 1984, the youngest of six children. She was born with congenital heart disease and survived through wonderful medical help and many miracles that came to her over the years. At age three and one half she had a major stroke and had to learn to walk again and function with the use of only one hand. She struggled with serious health problems and learning difficulties all of her life, but faced all of her difficulties with cheerful persistence and taught us all what it means to live a good life regardless of the circumstances. In recognition of these qualities Bountiful Jr. High presented her with the Todd Timothy Award for her example of how to live with challenges. One of her greatest joys as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was to attend the temple with her family.
Megan graduated from Viewmont High School. She then excelled in photography classes at Salt Lake Community College and became an accomplished photographer. She loved to garden and create places of beauty. Our hopeless romantic delighted in listening to great music and writing fanciful stories. She served faithfully in Young Women's leadership, and most recently served as her ward's Relief Society Historical Photographer. Megan blessed all those around her with her great love, tender hugs and sweet notes. She found great joy in her family's company and conversation.
Megan is survived by her parents, Martin and Nancy Empey; her two sisters, three brothers, and their families; two grandmothers; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Viewing will be Monday June 4 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Tuesday June 5 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Bountiful 34th Ward Chapel, 540 North 1200 East, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday June 5 at the Bountiful 34th Ward Chapel.
