Michaelene (Mickey) Peck Carter McCluskey passed away surrounded by her family on December 12, 2011 due to complications of pancreatic cancer. Mickey was born on September 3, 1942 in Murray, Utah to Glen L and Doris (Ball) Peck. She attended Granite High School and graduated in 1960.
Mickey married Robert A. Carter on October 17, 1959. They had three children together and later divorced. She married Michael (Mike) McCluskey on June 27, 1969. They had one child together. Mike passed away in February 2006.
Mickey enjoyed sewing from an early age and made her children clothing when they were young. For a time when she was single, she worked as a seamstress at Pykett Manufacturing to provide for her family and acquire a home. Her hobbies included camping with the family at the family property, quilting, crocheting and crafting, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Above all else, family was the most important part of Mickey's life.
Mickey is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike, brothers Robbie Peck and Arthur (with Noi and baby) Peck.
Mickey is survived by her sisters Eileen (Tom) Rieker and Kathy (Dorian) Glauser; her brother Ronald Thomas Peck; her children Elise C. (Dean) Kidd, Robert Brian (Sally) Carter, Jeffrey L. (Tammy) Carter, and Allison (Dave) Bruce; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Mickey's ashes will be placed with her husband's next summer.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation to one of the following in Mickey's name: National Kidney Foundation of Utah and Idaho; American Diabetes Association; or Huntsman Cancer Institute.
