Myra Geneva Drum Johnson, 94, of Chandler, AZ, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at home. Myra was born to Bertha and E.W. Drum, in their family home in rural Catawba County, NC, on March 31, 1921. She graduated from Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, GA; earned her BA from East Carolina Teachers College, Greenville, NC; and her MLS from the University of Michigan. She was married to Moody S. Johnson from 1946 until his death in 1974. Myra taught high school English, and was later a librarian at Olivet Nazarene College, and retired as a librarian at Oral Roberts University. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and attended Crossroads Nazarene Church in Chandler until she became housebound. Myra is survived by her daughters Catherine (Mark) Shaw of Chandler; Joy Mosely of Lincolnton, NC; and Rebecca (John) Miller of Minneapolis, KS; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister, Lutie Williams, and brother, William Drum, both of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Carol; brothers, Zelotes Drum, Jolly Drum, Dail Drum, McCoy Drum, Moody Drum; sister, Kathleen Stewart; and grandson, Jacob Miller. A memorial service will be held at Kelley Prayer Chapel, Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, with Rev. John A. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Kankakee, IL.
