Myrtlene Morris Eubanks "Mama" peacefully returned to the arms of her Father in Heaven on Sunday, February 17, 2008 of causes incident of age. She was born on April 23, 1932 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Ephriam Bonner and Pauline Brown Morris. She was one of six children. Sisters: Ellen Williams, Ruby Freeman, Mecy Thigpen. Brothers: Richard Alexander Morris and Ephriam Bonner Morris. Myrtlene married her one true love, Wilbur Jesse Eubanks on January 9th 1954. They moved their precious children from North Carolina to Utah to have their marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake, LDS Temple in 1967. They cherished their 8 children: Donna Marlette and (Tiemoko) Eubanks-Toure, Richard Jesse and (Verissa Adams) Eubanks, Lisa Karen and (Brett) Reeves, Duane Everett Eubanks, Maria Ellen Eubanks, L. Pauline (Walt) Rickett, Jennifer Eubanks, Lawana Lynne and (Shawn) Sanford. Myrtlene was first a homemaker and occasionally worked as a certified nursing assistant. Her favorite position was rocking and feeding the newborn babies in the nursery at Cottonwood Hospital. She had a beautiful soprano voice and enjoyed singing in the many choirs that her dear husband conducted. She also enjoyed reading and gardening and loved to watch the birds and would often call everyone to the window after a rainy day to watch the birds play in the puddles. She had a love for Jesus Christ and served in various callings in the LDS church. Her most treasured calling was at age 16 when she served as Secretary to her mother who served as Relief Society President. Her favorite accomplishment in that calling was making, serving and delivering meals to raise money to build their local ward building. Myrtlene was a devoted mother and thoroughly enjoyed her 33 grand children and 29 great-grand children. She was always known to say "Hand me that baby" She was preceded in death by her parents- Ephriam and Pauline, her loving husband-Wilbur Jesse, her son- Richard Jesse and a brother- Alex Morris. Funeral services will be held at her LDS Stake Center at 6400 West 2920 South (Parkway Blvd) on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 12:00pm. Friends and family may call from 9:30 until 11:30 that morning. Internment will be at the Blanding City Cemetery with Graveside services at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Her family would like to extend many thanks to neighbors, friends, ward and extended family for their visits and calls through her last days.
