Nance Zopfi

(June 3, 1950- December 14, 2011)
Nance Pauline Zopfi, 61, of St. George, Utah, peacefully passed away December 14, 2011 after a spirited battle with cancer. Nance was born on June 3, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Helen and Mitchell Stevens and sister of Mitchell F. Stevens and Kenneth D. Stevens.
Nance was raised in Danville, Illinois followed by Southern California, where her family relocated in 1967. Nance graduated from Hoover High School before attending Glendale City College. In 1975 she married her lifelong partner and best friend, Nick, and started a family together. Nance and Nick raised their three children in Simi Valley, California where they lived for 23 years before retiring in 2006 to St. George, Utah to enjoy their new home and the serenity of nature.
Nance is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Mathias Nicholas Zopfi and her three children, daughters, Kelly Ann and husband Andrew Kim of Thousand Oaks, Amanda Lyn and husband Evan Conklin of Simi Valley and son, Scott Mathew Zopfi of Chicago.
Nance spent countless hours giving back to the community while raising her three children in Simi Valley and continued her philanthropy upon retiring to Utah. She enjoyed volunteering with the American Cancer Society, Jubilee of Trees and at Dixie Regional Medical Center in the ER, Maternity Ward, Gift shop and the NICU. The time Nance spent in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was where she felt she could give the most and that is where she continued to give until she was no longer able.
Nance's love for life, friendship, and laughter will always be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her. She always had their home open for family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining, music, loved the ocean but most of all loved her family. Through the tough times, she remained strong and positive, living each day with a beautiful smile on her face.
