Nancy Joan Jeske (Joni) was born into this world on December 21, 1944 in Vulcan, Alberta and lived and loved for 68 years. Joni passed at home surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, August 16, 2013. Joni was Paul's Beauty Queen and he, her Knight in a shining red Convertible. Joni is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Paul; beloved sons: Robert (Tammy) of Victoria, British Columbia and Mike of West Jordan, Utah; her cherished grandchildren: Evan, Jaden, Kylah and Makena; her mother, Nancy Henderson and brother, Bill of Calgary, Alberta; sister-in-law, Karla (John) of Oakville, Ontario; sister-in-law, Lyn of Calgary; brother-in-law, Glenn (Jan) of Claresholm, Alberta; her nieces and nephews: Karen, Dennis, Alana, and Jason; and great nieces: Andrea, Stephanie, Robyn and Jennifer. Joni was predeceased by her father, Earle Henderson, Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1984. Joni was a dedicated office administrator, an immaculate homemaker, avid gardener, loved crafts and sewed clothes. She also loved to bake her chocolate cake, Joni's Ribs, and Christmas goodies that remain famous with family and friends. She did all these things with her make-up flawless, nails perfect and not a hair out of place. Joni lived a life so completely contrary to the common expectations conjured by the word Alzheimer's. She wasn't only her disease. She was wonderfully, beautifully and authentically Joni. She continued to live, to love, to sing, to dance, and to enjoy her good fortune. Joni, Baby Doll, African Queen, Mom, Mala, Uma, and Auntie Joan - we all love you and will miss you. We know you are with all those that went before you. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hands. Thank you for your love. "With loving memory I will miss you and until we meet again I will always love you." -Paul
