Nancy Carter Poulsen died peacefully in her sleep the morning of Wednesday, December 16th, 2010 after a battle with lung cancer. Nancy was born October 5, 1943 to Harold & Alice Carter. She is proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers and a great grandson. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed it to the very end. The great joys of her life were her family. She is survived by husband, Paul, daughters Debbie (Tony), Becky, sister Cathy, brothers Ben and John (Babette) as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She spent her time in her garden (weather permitting of course), quilting (we can still wrap her love around us), painting (so she can always watch over us), and all sorts of other crafts. She believed that idle hands were the work of the devil. Her favorite way of vacationing was on a cruise ship. She loved to be waited on (who doesn't) and loved the food. She would order every dessert (of course it was for the "table"). How she was able to keep to her goal weight one will never know. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses with Paragon Hospice. They made her smile and laugh every day. For you, we are forever thankful knowing she was in such good care. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me". With tearful eyes we watched and saw you pass away. Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only ...takes the best.
