NANCY L. RUSSELL who died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, was born in Ogden, UT, to Alexander and Elizabeth Kenley Liddell, both immigrants from Scotland.
Nancy graduated from Ogden High and worked several years before marrying Clarence D. Russell in 1936. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake temple. Nancy and Clarence were parents of four children: Sandra Turville Burton, Nancy A. Miller, Kay R. Ellsworth (Lynn) and Dee L. Russell.
Nancy is survived by her children, 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, six great, great grandchildren, and Nondas L. Poulsen, her sister.
As a little girl, Nancy danced all the Scottish dances at church programs and Scottish festivals throughout the northern Utah area.
Serving family, neighbors and church filled Nancy's life. She held various positions in Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. She was a tremendous influence for good and a living example of true love and forgiveness.
Nancy enjoyed learning, reading, writing, music and nature. She gave lively book reviews and was a gifted teacher. Delivering homemade goodies to others kept her constantly involved. Benefactors even prized Grandma's baking "mistakes".
A Nancy Liddell Russell was a woman of small means and a generous spirit. She welcomed all to her home with a listening ear and a huge heart. He twinkling eyes and Scottish humor entranced everyone. She spent her life in service. She will be missed.
Funeral Services will be at 12 Noon on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Karalee Ward (Sego Lily Building) 10310 Ashley Park Drive, Sandy, Utah 84092. Viewing will be at 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow the services at Wasatch Memorial Park.
