Nelda Mae Smith Warner 1922 ~ 2012
Nelda Mae Warner passed away on August 22, 2012. She was born January 5, 1922, in Genola, Utah. She was the first child of John and Larelda Smith.
Nelda was known for her devotion to her family. Nelda married her life-long sweetheart Spencer Warner on June 5, 1940, in the Salt Lake Temple. Spencer and Nelda raised 12 happy children. Spencer passed away in 2008.
Nelda marveled at the "magic" things modern life offers. Her favorite quote was "The good old days are gone forevera"the further the better!" Her teenage years were during the hard times of the great depression, which affected her deeply. She did her best to teach her children to be responsible, honest, and hard working so they could avoid the hardships she had seen. She has always been happy, with an optimistic view of the future.
Nelda's greatest pleasures were her children. She was blessed with a sharp mind all of her days. She found joy in keeping up with all the many activities of her children and grandchildren.
Spencer and Nelda's children are Ray (Cindy), Wes (Louise), Aleta (Tom), Ellen (Mike), Garth (Shauna), Noreen (Dave), Irene, Ralph (Regana), Kathy (Brian), Glade (Renee), Joyce (John) and Merril (Leslie). Nelda will be deeply missed.
