Nelson Martin

Nelson Martin passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2010. Nelson was born in Penasco, New Mexico on September 8th, 1921 to J. O. Martin and Siferena Duran. He was married to Shirley Sarah Fletter in Evanston, Wyoming in 1943. Shirley passed away in 1982. Nelson graduated from Bingham High School and served in the Navy. He worked at Kennecott Copper and at Rays Music. He loved to bowl for many years and received many trophies. He enjoyed traveling, yard sales and swap meets. He loved to cook and read, listen to music and watch movies. He collected many books and Record Albums. Nelson had great love for his many dogs and cats. He is survived by his daughter Toni Poulsen, granddaughter Debra Smith, grandson Steve Poulsen, brother Joe Martinez, sister Rose Alexiff, brother Robert Martin, great granddaughter Amanda Smith and great grandson Demick Smith. We would like to give special thanks to Draper Rehab staff for taking such good care of him and Affinity Hospice for caring for him during the last few weeks of his life. Nelson's wishes were to be cremated without a service and his family will honor his wishes.
