Neola "Billie": 93, of Salt Lake City, passed away on July 4, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 20, 1915. She was the first white girl born on the Indian Reservation in Neola, Duchesne Co. UT. Her parents were John Ether and Ella Pearl Woodward Wilkerson. She married Clarence Albert Gage on December 23, 1933; they lived in Price, Utah until he was injured in a coal mine accident that took his life on October 20, 1952. She later married Herbert Wilson on November 24, 1962 and he died on January 4, 1976.
Billie was a wonderful wife and decocted to her children, she was a pillar or strength to all that knew her.
Neola is survived by her children; Richard, Delbert, Elvin, Joy (Clay), Rita (Richard) and Shanna; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jasper; her two husbands; parents; brothers, John, Don and Wiley; sisters, Viola Boulden and Ada Farnsworth preceded her in death.
A Celebration in honor of her life will be held at The Woods on Ninth at 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on July 11, 2009 at 6775 South 900 East Midvale, UT. The family would like to give a special thanks to Harmony Hospice, Jamie and Kim, for their loving care given to Neola.
