Our dearest husband, father died peacefully surrounded by his beloved family after years of suffering on Saturday morning, August 4th, 2007.
Nolan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frederick Werner Fink & Mary Bangerter. He loved and played the violin until he lost his finger in the service in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He married Jeannette Racine on June 3, 1947 in the Idaho Falls Temple and lived to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in June this year. He is the father of nine children. He became an Eagle Scout as he served as an avid Scout Master, spending many years in the service of Boy Scout of America through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served as Stake Missionary & Home Teacher. In addition to his labor at Kennecott Copper, he was the entrepreneur of many trades: Walter Nolan's Catering, Cake Decorator, Construction, All phases of home improvement, and Restaurant owner. He could tell you every vehicle he ever owned. He loved his family and enjoyed camping at Ferron Reservoir on a yearly basis with them. He loved to hunt and tell his hunting stories. He loved music. He was a great artist and he beautified everything he touched showing his magnificent talent from the wedding cakes he made to the homes he built. He is greatly loved by all his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife Jeannette and 8 of his children: Katherine Joyce Fink Rhoades (Jim), Kevin's wife (Rolayne), Sheri Dawn Fink Murray (Curtis), Kenneth Steven Fink, Cynthia Rae Fink Rhoades (Merlyn), Nolene Jeannette Fink Brooks (Larry), Alan Walter Fink (Debbie), Laura Leigh Fink Hansen (Greg), Mark James Fink; 41 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.
Preceded in death by his Son, Kevin Nolan Fink; Father, Frederick Werner Fink; Mother, Mary Bangerter, Sister Mary Leigh Fink Nielsen. He has surviving siblings: Lily Fink, Keith Finch (Grace) and Myra (Fern) McLelland.
Viewing Tuesday night, August 7, 2007 at 6 - 8 p.m., 2522 E. 6710 So. Cottonwood Heights, Utah, also one hour prior to services Wednesday. Funeral services held on August 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Church on 2522 E. 6710 So. Cottonwood Heights, Utah.. Internment: Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted.
