Norman Albert Barringer, 62, passed away from cancer complications on March 28, 2007 in Salt Lake City.
He was born to Mary Icles Barringer on July 1, 1944 in Denver, Colorado. He married Pamela Patrick Barringer in Denver on June 6, 1992.
His mother, Mary, and his son Timothy Lynn, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Pamela, one son, Norm, of West Jordan, his ex-wife Linda Twitty Barringer of Kannapolis, NC, brother David Downey of Thornton, CO, two nieces, Miranda ShaBazz of Orange County, CA and Sara Downey of Thornton, CO, as well as numerous other family members.
Norman graduated from Adams City High School in Commerce City, CO in 1963. He then served honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. After his service he worked as a Manufacturers Representative for Whirlpool Corporation and as a Regional Sales Manger for Miller Equipment Company before moving to Salt Lake City to start his own Manufacturing Representative business specializing in safety products with two partners in Denver.
Norman was a hobby mechanic and had a passion for owning and restoring classic Mopar muscle cars. He was also interested in drag racing, NASCAR and anything that had to do with racing and cars. He also liked to camp, fish, hunt and golf.
There will be a Memorial Service for Norman at his residence in South Jordan on April 21, from noon to 3:00 pm.
